Eligibility:

  • Individuals charged with alcohol or drug-related offenses.
  • Individuals charged with other offenses where substance use is a contributing factor (as determined by the judge).
  • Individuals referred by the Knox County Courts, Prosecutor’s Office, Probation, or other court-administered programs.

How the Program Works:

  • Referral – You may be referred to the program by a judge, probation, or the prosecutor’s office.
  • Assessment & Screening – Our trained staff will assess your substance use history and risk factors using validated screening tools.
  • Individual Service Plan – Based on the assessment, we will create a personalized plan which may include education, treatment, and monitoring.
  • Participation in Services – You will attend required education courses and/or treatment as outlined in your service plan.
  • Monitoring & Compliance – Our team tracks your progress, including required chemical testing and case management meetings.
  • Completion & Court Reporting – Successful participants complete all requirements and have their progress reported back to the court.

Services Provided by A&D Program:

  • Comprehensive Assessments – Risk and needs evaluations using validated tools like TCU DS5 and IRAS-CST.
  • Education Programs – 8-hour and 16-hour Substance Abuse Information Courses using Change Companies Flex Modules.
  • Treatment Referrals – Connections to certified addiction treatment providers for those in need of counseling or rehabilitation.
  • Case Management – Ongoing support, compliance monitoring, and referrals for additional community services.
